Psoriasis is a type of skin disease and it is very difficult to diagnose because the symptoms of this disease are similar to other skin disease. At present there is no blood test or diagnostic tool that can diagnose the psoriasis.
But Following Tests are useful in the Diagnosis of Psoriasis
Physical Examination: Your physician may carefully examine your skin, scalp, fingernails, and toenails for reddening or scaling skin which are the characteristic of psoriasis. Small pits on the fingernails are also signs of psoriasis.
Skin Biopsy: Confirmation of the disease can be made by carrying out the Biopsy diagnosis, where a small sample of skin is taken for biopsy to test for psoriasis. |
