Terms you should know

Fissure : It is a term used to describe a linear ter iear in the rectum (the end of the intestines, just above the anus). It normally occurs in people who have constipation, due to straining at stools. Hard stools cause the tear.
Gallstones : These are hard stone-like accumulations in the gall bladder. Gall bladder is a lemon-sized organ just below the liver. It stores the bile (a fat digestive alkaline fluid) secreted by the liver, and releases it into the upper part of the intestines whenever required.
Prostate : This is a gland in male reproductive system that surrounds the urinary passage below the bladder. It surrounds part of urethra (the duct that empties the bladder). It has a sexual function. As a part of ageing. It can get enlarged, leading to obstruction in urinary flow. This is called BPH or benign prostatic hypertrophy. Prostatic cancer is also common in older men.
Sthavasana : This is one of the most useful asanas in yoga, where the body is made to relax to an extent that it resembles a ‘shava’ or a dead body. Shavasana should be performed at the end of a yoga session, whenever the mind is tense, when one cannot sleep, and after any vigorous exercise. It is not an easy asana and should be learnt from an expert
